The main motif is the effigy of the honored, in a circular frame, surrounded by a laurel sprig. At the top, on a band, SERVIÇO POSTAL AÉREO, and underneath the words BARTHOLOMEU DE GUSMÃO.

HISTÓRICO

Selos destinados a Correio Aéreo, homenageando os próceres nacionais e as primazias aeronáuticas nacionais, com o vôo do 14-Bis, Jahu, do Pax de Augusto Severo, do balão n º 6 de Santos Dumont, do monumento a Bartolomeu de Gusmão em Santos (SP) e as figuras de Santos Dumont, Augusto Severo e Bartolomeu de Gusmão, personagens brasileiros importantes na História da Aviação. A partir de 1941 foram autorizados para uso postal geral, não apenas aéreo.

Stamps destined to Air Mail honoring the national celebrities and the first aeronautic national feats with the 14-bis flight, Jahu, Pax de Augusto Severo, nº 6 balloon of Santos Dumont, Monument to Bartolomeu de Gusmao in Santos (SP) and the figures of Santos Dumont, Augusto Severo and Bartolomeu de Gusmao, remarkable Brazilian characters of Aviation history. They have been authorized to general post usage, not only air mail since 1941.
